10 Weird Things About Me

I’ve been tagged by Amanda and I’m supposed to tag 10 more people, but I think everyone I know has been tagged. If not, consider yourself tagged.

Here are ten things about me that you may or may not find weird:

1. I like peanut butter and maple syrup on my pancakes and waffles.

2. I don’t like country music so much, but I love bluegrass and love to attempt to play it on my grandpa’s fiddle.

3. My pillow has a large fan on it and the opening is crocheted with lace. I can’t get comfortable unless the fan is facing the right way and the lace is on the outside of the bed.

4. I catch myself singing out loud to the muzak in the grocery store.

5. I carry on complete conversations with myself.

6. I can’t lie without laughing. I can’t make direct eye contact when I lie, either. (courtesy DH). Obviously, I don’t lie often and NEVER about something important. LOL

7. I laugh at every stupid thing Taylor says (courtesy DH). So does DH, though he won’t admit it.

8. I’d rather clean a toilet than unload the dishwasher.

9. I love driving. I don’t mind flying, but given the choice I’d rather drive cross country.

10. I hate my voice. I know people always say that, but really. Whenever I hear a recording of me I cringe and want to cry. I sound like my 12-year-old daughter instead of a grown woman. Seriously.

  1. Ha! I sound like a little girl too. Which, when you think about it, can come in handy when those pesky telemarketers call and then ask for your mom. LOL

  2. I ADORE the Muzak in the grocery store. When I’m stressed out, I like to go late, late at night when no one’s there and sing along to myself while I sort of just wander the aisles. I find it very calming. And I totally hate my voice too.

  3. 4. I’ve done that plenty of times, especially nowadays that ’80s music is the thing now. I can’t believe those songs are considered oldies now, lol. I feel like that mom in the Bowling for Soup song 1985.9. I actually hate flying and will go to great lengths to avoid it. But if I ever want to go to Europe, Asia or even Puerto Rico, I gotta fly *sigh*.10. Ditto. When I have to listen to my own voice I either sound like a kid or extremely out of it to the point of zombie like.

  4. 8. I would rather clean a toilet than LOAD the dishwasher .. gunky food makes me GAG.10. I don’t care for mine when recorded either – it always sounds so high, but in person people tell me I have a deep voice – maybe its just a recording thing …oh and 1. I love that too!!

  5. Ames – I do that!! When they ask if my mother is there I tell them no. ’cause she’s not. :o)Swishy – That’s like going to WalMart in the middle of the night. Total stress-free shopping/looking.Aim – My kids used to point at me and sing that song whenever it would come on the radio. I wonder what they were trying to say?Frannie – You like PB & syrup on pancakes and waffles? I don’t think it sounds weird at all, but I get strange looks.

  6. Jenster, I’m so glad I found you on Dee’s site! You’re fun!!! I’ve enjoyed reading your blog over the past week or so…starting with the fluffernutter experience. You have some good ones, but I’m not so sure about #8. Those truly are the lesser of two evils, but I’m not sure which is worse. I think as long as I’m wearing rubber gloves I’d rather clean the toilet. I’ve already given my wierd things on Dee’s blog but I’ll add one more: one of my favorite websites is findagrave.com. You can look up the gravesites of the famous and infamous. Creepy, yes. But the legacies left behind are very interesting…sometimes sobering. One last thing: good to know I’m not the only person talking to myself!!!!

  7. Katybug – I’m so glad you came over here from Dee’s site, too. When are you going to start blogging???I’m going to have to check out that gravesite website. I LOVE checking out old graveyards. That is kind of weird, isn’t it? LOL

  8. Good Lord, I sing to muzak too, but never thought it weird–LOLAnd, I too sound like a 12 year old which I find a little odd because my husband’s been told by men he works with that I have a hot telephone voice, which kind of creeps me out–LOL

  9. The campus of Notre Dame University has one of the most BEAUTIFUL cemetaries I have EVER seen. We drove by there on a summer trip a couple of years ago, then went by again the next year because it was so incredible. The graves are very very old, and the trees must be as well. It’s small (especially by today’s standards), so peaceful. The way the sun streams through the trees is so amazing. Worth dropping by, even if you aren’t a fan of the Fighting Irish! Blogging? Not sure if I have enough to say that’s worth reading, but you’re not the first person to ask me that. My plate is rather full these days but perhaps I might start one up in the next few months. Until then, you’ll just have to look for me on your blog & Dee’s! 🙂

  10. Tara – I don’t particularly think singing to Muzak at the grocery store is weird, either. But judging from a few looks I’ve gotten, others do. LOLThat whole sexy-sounding 12-year-old girl thing IS creepy! What’s wrong with those guys! Maybe you don’t really sound like a little girl. The only time I sound sexy is when I’ve got a scratchy throat.Katybug – My son would LOVE to visit the Notre Dame cemetary as he thinks that’s where he’s going to go. Which is funny because we’re neither Irish (not much, anyway) nor Catholic. But hey! If he can get in, then great!!As for having something to say before you can blog – what are you talking about?? You mean you’re supposed to have something important or interesting to discuss?? Nobody told me!!

  11. I sound like a little kid to, and always get asked if my mom is home. Apparently I also look like a little kid because door to door sales people always ask if they can speak to the “lady of the house.” I also like peanut butter and maple syrup on my pancakes, but don’t really like waffles. I also like peanut butter in my oatmeal.
